The original water supply in Ramen village in Timor Leste involved villagers carting water from a spring over several kilometres of rough terrain.
The Rotary Club of Matilda Bay raised funds at a wine tasting and in 2014 sent a tema of members to timor Leste to complete construction of a water supply system. The team worked with local villagers and provided tools, equipment and training for the ongoing maintenance of the water supply
