Be an Organ Donor

Organ and tissue donation involves removing organs and tissues from someone who has died (a donor) and transplanting them into someone who, in many cases, is very ill or dying (a recipient). Organs that can be transplanted include the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, intestine and pancreas.

Peter Chwal founded Donormate in 2013 after he had a liver transplant. The object of Donormate is to raise awareness in people in the 18-35 age group of the value in registering as an organ donor. Currently there are only 750 suitable donors across Australia. Celebrities such as boxer Danny Green, model Jennifer Hawkins and Daniel Riccardo are all behind and supporting the cause.
