Kym MacCormac has had his own practice since 1997 when he was selected to design the David Jones Department store in Perth.

His practice specialises in Commercial projects, Apartment developments, Retail and Interior Architecture.

As a result of the Aherns redevelopment which became the David Jones department store, MacCormac Architects was chosen to design the conversion of the Wanamba Arcade and Cinema in Hay st opposite David Jones for St. Martins Properties and went on to refurbish 40 and 50 St. Georges Terrace for St. Martins.

At the same time he was appointed to design Equus Mixed Use development of 140 apartments, 8,000m2 Commercial Office and 2,000m2 of retail running between Hay and Murray streets.

He is currently designing Townhouses of 3 levels and 4 bedrooms with internal lifts in groups of 10-12 sitting above carparking which means they have to be assessed as apartments. Projects in Fremantle and North Perth are currently awaiting funding.

His most recent project which is the subject of todays talk is Anzac House 3 Veteran Central for RSLWA at 28 St. Georges Terrace.
